Two and a half!

Yes! She is two and a half! And after 6 months, we're going to celebrate her birthday again. Wahh time flies so fast. I remembered when she's only crawling and in a blink of an eye, she's already running. Some says, that this is the "Terrible two" stage but for it's the "Terrific TWO" stage because I'm focusing on her achievements and seeing things in a good way.

~ Terrific TWO! ~

So here's the milestone based on the Baby center chart.

• Takes off clothes ~ only her shorts and not her shirt.
• Names several body parts ~ Sometimes we play games in naming parts of the body.
• Brushes teeth with help ~ Sometimes she doesn't want supervision and wants to brush her teeth alone.
• Speaks clearly most of the time ~ Most of the time but not all the time. She's still in the bulol stage and sometimes having a hard time saying what she wants.
• Draws a circle and a vertical line ~ She's learning to hold the crayon now.
• Balances on each foot for a second ~ Imitates what she sees on TV.
• Jumps up off the ground ~ She loves to jump.
• Names one friend ~ She tells me that she saw her friend, bon-bon in the playground.
• Carries on a conversation of two to three sentences. ~ She loves talking.
• Names at least four pictures in a book ~ She loves her books, especially the animals.
• Names two actions (e.g. skipping, jumping) ~ She can do those actions too--walking, running, skipping, jumping.
• Uses prepositions (e.g. on, in, over) ~ She's learning everyday.
• Builds a tower of six building bricks ~ Loves to stack bricks/toys and one time we saw her stack cans she got from the grocery bags, and then she would proudly show it to us.
• Throws ball overarm - Sometimes throws the ball overhead!
• Hops and skips ~ When she was walking with her dad in the mall, I saw her hop and skip in between steps.
• Expresses a wide range of emotions ~ When I was on the lappy, I saw her threw her dad's basketball, kicks it and shouted at it. Then she approached me and said, "Mom, I'm angry at the ball." I laughed hard.
• Completely toilet trained during the day ~ ...and night. We are completely diaper-free! Last Saturday, we were in Trinoma. She did number one and number two in the toilet. We are so proud of her.

We recently bought her a set of crayons and a coloring book, so she can be created as early as now. So far, she's doing so well. And yes, she's left handed.

Things like these are meant to be cherished. We are looking forward for more toddler milestones from the little kiddo.

Hair salon

I finally got the certificate from the hair salon last week. It was not a major hair cut or a make over because the hubby doesn't want it short so we just had a 2 inches trim. And it really made a difference. She looks like a little lady now.

Diaper No More

Few months back, we potty trained the little angel in the house and was successful. But she still wore one diaper in the afternoon during nappy time and one during night time. I also let her wear one when we go out, like in the park, church, grocery, mall etc.

Lately, she complained by saying "ouch.. ouch... pampers...", while holding her diaper. I double checked it and it was fine--not too tight. Then Saturday, when we were in the grocery store, she said "mommy wee-wee please...". I told her that it was okay because she had her diapers on. But she kept telling me the same thing, but I insisted back. I love to accompany her to the comfort room, but we were already inside the grocery store. Then came Saturday evening, she wore her usual diapers only to find out that it was dry the next morning. No sign of pee. It came to me that we try to completely remove the diaper from her daily cycle.

Now, she's not wearing one anymore even at night time. She would always advise us when she needs to go. The hubby told me that last night, the little angel woke him up at 3 in the morning because she wants to pee. Good girl. At 2 years and 5 months old, she doesn't need diapers anymore.

We are so proud of her... and she is too.

Dwyn's 2nd Birthday!

Ann, my blogger friend and High school batch mate invited us to her son's 2nd Birthday party last June 1, Sunday @ Bounce, Pasig. It was our first to go to Bounce, that's why we were all excited. I was amazed to see how big the place was. They have 2 big inflatable play area and several little toys in the middle. The best thing about it is that the place has A/C.

~ Big slide on the left; bounce castle on the right. ~

We played games and enjoyed buffet food. The little angel was all over the place. She kept shouting and running because it was such a sight and she can't contain herself. Then we sang happy birthday to Dwyn...

~ Dwyn with her Mommy... ~

And then there's us... the little angel and I even practiced the happy birthday song at home.

~ Lizzz and the little angel. ~

After wishing Dwyn a happy happy birthday, the kids went back to the play area and so was us. I joined the little angel inside, and together, we enjoyed the big slide.

~ Big slide. ~

We kept going back to the slide over and over, then the little angel suddenly dropped on the floor and did the snow angel thing. I joined her on the floor while laughing my heart out because there's no snow hahahaha.

~ Making snow angels, but there's no snow. ~

We left the place at quarter to 6pm. We all enjoyed Dwyn's party and the hubby even thought of considering that place as an option for her 3rd birthday next year. We'll see.

Montemar Beach Resort

This is a two-week overdue post. But it's better late than never. Anyway, this is our much awaited zitros family outing for this year. And we truly enjoyed our stay there, even if it's only two days.

May 2 @ exactly 4AM, we left our parent's house with our swimming gear and at around 8AM, we were already there at the site. We had breakfast and lounge around the area. Moments later, we were on the beach. We were all excited, especially me because it was the little angel's first time to see the beach. Proud mother as I am, I was like a papparazi constantly taking pictures of her trying to get her first reaction.

At first, she thinking how the waves worked but somehow she figured it out and enjoyed the sun, water and the waves.

~ Little Angle's first time to hit the beach! ~

The hubby brought his swimming gear and once he hit the water, we can't find him anywhere anymore. That whole afternoon was cloudy, so I enjoyed a good swim.

~ A Whale! Oh no, it's my Brother-In-Law... ~

We ate lunch @ their in-house resto. We rested a few minutes chatting and taking pictures when the kids (little angel and her cousin, Amandine) were so eager to hit the water again. Since it's too hot now to go to beach, we went to the pool instead.

~ Her version of pa-cute. ~

The water in the kiddie pool was up to the little angel's chin but she was never afraid. She was even active to walk around and do her swimming moves...

~ Trying to get a good shot of the little angel in the water. ~

After a few hours in the water, we went back to the hotel room to have a quite nap. The hubby and the little angel was fast asleep that I had a hard time waking them up at 5pm. Then we all went to the beach again to catch the sunset.

~ My sisters, doing some picture taking... ~

Then finally it was sunset. We noticed that everybody on the beach was breathless when the sun went down. And there we were trying to snap a good shot. And this is my version of the sunset. From my point and shoot Olympus underwater digicam.

~ My version of sunset by the beach. ~

After that the lifeguard, gave us the signal to move to the pool since it was already dark. But we went straight to the hotel room again to take a bath. We had dinner at around 8pm and the little angel enjoyed a little company from the kids who were also playing there. At 10pm, the band started to play and the hubby and the little angel went straight to the hotel room to sleep, while I was left there to watch the band. After an hour, I decided to hit the sack too.

May 3 - I forced myself to get up at 5AM to wash the little angel's bottles and gather our swimming gear. I quickly changed into my bathing suit and woke up the hubby and the little kiddo. Then we headed straight to the beach!

~ Little Angel checking out the water again... ~

When everybody was awake, we grab a quick breakfast and headed to the beach again.

~ Mother and daughter moment. ~

~ Checking out the waves... ~

I bought the underwater camera so we can use it during occasions like this. So we took so many pictures near and under the water. Good thing the hubby brought his swimming gear--snorkel and fins, we were able to see a whole new world down there.

~ A whole new world. ~

We also had our pictures taken under water. The shots were too many and some were blurred because it was trial and error. It was very hard to take a snap shot under because it was hard to stay under water. But we manage to take some good shots though.

~ Zitros sister (left); My sister A and her husband (right) ~

After the fun in the sun, we went to our hotel rooms--got dressed and packed our things because it was time to go. We had our last minute picture taking by the beach and on the front gate.

~ The Zitros ~

We had our late lunch at Razon's somewhere in Pampanga and went straight home. It was a fun family trip and I'm still looking forward for more beach get aways like this, so Summer is not over for me.

Car Show @ WTC

I only have few minutes to spare and I'm blogging like crazy just to catch up with all the posts I've missed these past few days. Here's our little family trip to the Car Show last Sunday @ the World Trade Center. We left the house after lunch and we got there just in time to take pictures and watch Mr. Russ Swift's car stunts.

~ The little Angel loves motorcycles too... just like daddy. ~

~ Here we are enjoying the car stunts expect for the
little angel who always do funny faces when it's time to take a picture. ~

~ Of course, sexy ladies looks good with hot cars! ~

~ The hubby won't leave until we get a picture of those trucks outside. ~

~ After that hot and sweaty afternoon, we had a trip to MOA
and had a feisty meal. The little angel loves spaghetti! ~

8 Random Things about the Little Angel

Still catching up on the tags here. Thanks again to Kathycot.

~ Little Angel's 8 Random Things ~

1. Born on January 17, 2006--7:56AM at the new Medical City, Pasig City via normal painless delivery.

2. Breastfed her for only 2 weeks because I don't have the patience back then. Unfortunately, it's one of my regrets as a mom.3. Eats only bread, biscuits, fruits and yogurt during her first year and recently started eating rice.

4. Potty-trained when she reached 2 years old. We are very proud of her.

5. Likes to play her toys very much--like the doll house, her baby doll, ball or balloon, ride the Vroom-Vroom, stack piles of Legos or imagine things using the Legos and most especially read books. And she definitely loves Swimming too!

6. She can count name the parts of the body, name animals and fruits, imitate animal sounds and count from 1 to 10.

7. Kikay. She loves to wear dresses and refuses to cut her hair. She would stay still when it's time to fix her hair and would admire her dress/hair in front of the mirror.

8. She's Independent. She loves to do things on her own, like wear the jacket, put socks and shoes and more.

Then and now

Thanks to Kathycot for the tag! I really had fun scanning the little angel's picture archive.

If you still keep your baby’s first 3 days photos, We would love to see them. Label them as 1st, 2nd or 3rd day (as shown below). After that, please post the most recent one, one photo will do. You can post as much as you want though. I’m sure you will realize and tell yourself “Seems like yesterday“.

Rice please

The hubby and I are getting worried for the last couple of months because the little angel just won't eat rice. At 2 years old, she should be eating more solid foods I know. We would always practice her being with us in her high chair at dinner time. I would prepare her plate with rice and soup. Her pedia advised this because eventually she would put the food in her mouth. That's true because sometimes she would, but most of the time she would just play and we would start to get angry. That scenario is kind if a routine for us until last week, the hubby got angry and demanded that she eat the food on her plate. What's good about the little angel is when her dad (or me) gets angry, she would not scream, cry and act like a spoiled brat but she listens instead. After a few NO responses, she opened her mouth and ate a spoonful. We praised her for that eventually talked her over of finishing the whole plate and she did. And now at 2 years old, she's potty trained and eating a lot. I'm so proud of her. I haven't bought a single diaper for the last three months because of the supply I had from gifts we received last Christmas and her birthday. Whew. And now when we go swimming, she would demand that we go to the bathroom every time she needs to pee! That's rushing to the bathroom 4 to 5 times hahaha!

Passport

We were thinking it's time for the little angel to have a passport. And my mom was telling me to get her one already. So the hubby and I were prepared to spend 45 minutes in the photo yesterday afternoon at SM Marilao. My sister said, they spend almost an hour in the photo studio when Amandine had her picture taken for her passport. I was laughing when my heart out when my sister said they did everything but Amandine would just not look straight at the camera. I told the hubby the story and so we braced ourselves to do the same thing. Fortunately, the little angel was cooperative. Two shots and we're done. That's it? Oh my. I was expecting a lot more from that session. Oh well, maybe she's in a good mood that time.

Birthday blast

This post has been long overdue. This is because of my busy schedule, time constrained and a very slow computer. Yes, this computer is starting to give up. I'm still hoping that it will last for several months until I earn proper funds to get a new one. Enough of the crappy computer and here's my late post of the little angel's second birthday party.

We started decorating the backyard around 9 in the morning. The balloons were already ready the day before so we could just put them in place that morning. Equipped with 2 yayas and my SIL's yaya, I was able to finish the venue within 2 hours. I felt a huge relief when the zitros arrived at 1PM. I know they will fix the place, arrange things and make my visitors comfortable.

~ Loot bags and prizes in the center table ~

With a lot of labor of love, hard work and an artistic touch (naks!), we were able to transform our backyard to a little fun play area with lots of balloons.

~ Almost done... ~

Thanks to my sister A and her hubby wabs, they lend us Amandine's play set. The kids sure had a fun time playing! And look at the little angel, still not taking a bath!

~ Fun time! ~

Now on with the party! First of, all the kids were asked to come in the middle and sang Happy Birthday. The little angel smiled and enjoy their singing because she was constantly clapping her hands. And now the games... the kids were all cooperative. Even the little angel participated in the Trip to Jerusalem game. Look how she danced!

~ It's was so cute.. ~

After the games, we served mieryenda food. Spagetti, hotdog on stick, lumpiang shang-hai, Chicken lollipop, Lechon, Pancit and maja blanca. All home made by me. We also have ice cream cart with 3 flavors--Chocolate, cheese and Cookies n' Cream!

~ FIL cutting the Elars lechon. ~

After the mieryenda, the kids were asked to sit and watch the balloon twisting and magic show done by the clowns. These guys were referred by a fellow blogger, kathycot--who also celebrated her daughter's first birthday in Cavite. Trusting my new found friend online, I booked these guys one week before the birthday. And after the birthday, we are one satisfied customer. These guys did great!

~ Magic show ~

~ Balloon twisting show ~

After the show, we again sang happy birthday to the little angel and blew the candle. The hubby chose to purchase the cake at Red Ribbon because their cakes tasted way better then Goldilocks. A simple picture cake with her name on it did the trick. I wanted it to be simple this year. Because as I've remembered, the cake last year (first birthday) was huge!

~ Chocolate flavored cake with caramel filling ~

I prepared a simple pabitin with tons of gifts! Yeah, I wrapped everything to prevent the kids from picking what they want hahaha. Every gift is a surprise! And do see the Cinderella piñata hanging beside the hubby? It's recycled from last year's party!

~ Picture taking... ~

The visitors had a great time and I thanked them for coming and sharing that special day with us. But before they leave, a special gift from the little angel was waiting for all the kids who attended. The little angel loves to give.

~ Look at her handing out the loot bag.. ~

And of course, the birthday will not be complete without tons of picture taking!

~ The Zitros! Good job! ~

~ FIL, my dad and my mom with their APOs ~

The sun was starting to come down and my friends were still there to wait and make chika with me. See more pictures *here*

~ With superfriends Malen and Ruthie ~

Time flies when you're having fun! And yeah, we had a blast that day. Looking forward for more birthdays like this in the future!

Second Birthday

I can't believe I forgot to post an entry and pictures from the little angel's birthday trip. I was thinking a lot of things and the birthday party was one of them. Okay, so here's our birthday adventure. January 17, 2008. First, my father was kind enough to lend us the van for the day, so we were able to enjoy without worrying about the rain. I even brought a big pillow for me to use because I haven't slept a wink. Unfortunately, the little angel used all the time. We took off 9AM from home to St. Clara Church to say our prayers and Thank yous. And so, here we are goofing around in front of the camera.

~ Hello there.. ~

Next stop--Eco park. But first we bought drive tru food at Jollibee. It's the hubby's and the little angel's favorite so I can't complain right? Good thing the hubby brought the little bike for her ride on so we didn't have to carry her when she's tired from walking. And there's me, with the take out food on my left hand.

~ Riding the bike. ~

After lunch, we stroll around the area. Who would have thought that a place like this exist in the middle of the city? It's full of trees and plants. Then there's this stairs in the middle. They said, it's the dam itself. So the hubby and I raced to the top with the little angel on his shoulder. With lack of sleep, I lost! My legs were aching but I was able to reach the top. 116 steps btw. And yeah, when I looked at the view--All I saw was green. And yeah, the dam was there.

~ Almost at the top on the left and the all-green view on the right. ~

After the stairs-exercise, we went to the ferry boat ride. The entrance was cheap and we get to ride the boat for 30 minutes. Enough time to look around and feed the ducks. It's also safe for kids because they have this life jacket and the water was only 4 feet deep. Look at my eyes on the picture... I was tired but enjoying every moment of it. Anything for her.

~ Boat ride with ducks chasing us. ~

We get to take a nap in the car on the way to TriNoMa. I woke up and we were already there. Then we went to Cont's and ate their famous frozen cakes for merienda. It's so yummy! You should try it. Oh my, we had 3 slices. Then off we go again. And since it's her birthday, the little angel enjoyed the carousel ride and the 1-hour playtime at Kevin's Playground and Library. The hubby was kind enough to accompany her.

~ Yummy frozen cake at Cont's ~ Carousel Ride ~ Playtime with daddy! ~

I was talking with my mom at whole time they were inside the play area. We were discussing our checklist for the party. My dad also asked if we could stop by there so they could see the little angel. So we decided to have dinner there too to complete the day. So I bought my favorite cake at Red Ribbon and we finished the day with a warm birthday song. See more pictures *here*

~ Sweet way to end the day. ~

Happy weekend

The little angel and I spent the weekend at my parents house. And we were able to visit her pedia in the Saturday afternoon. Thank God the little angel is healthy. She had her vaccine shot too. I may start giving her new prescribed milk this week since she's already 2 years old.

My sister J and I watched Sweeney Todd on dvd but unfortunately we both fell asleep. I was the one who fell asleep first--no doubt about that. Then my sister woke me up and asked me if I closed the laptop...? huh? I was asleep. But who did it. I looked for the little angel who was beside me and she was wide awake. So we were guessing she did it. Maybe she thought closing the laptop since there was no one watching anymore hahaha.

My sister A and Amandine was able to join us Sunday after lunch. So just stayed home and let the kids play. I was amazed how the little angel can interact and cope with Amandine. They played the little angel's toys--Polly pocket toys, they ran around and chase each other, and they even played Doctor-doctor. How cute. I was able to finish the movie, since they played it again while the kids were playing but we had to cover their eyes and ears because some scenes were NOT kid-friendly.

Now we're back in Bulacan and I'm off again to the office later tonight. Time flies so fast.

Let's Party!

I wasn't able to post anything here from last night, because I was too busy preparing. Then when I woke up this morning, I realised I had so many things to do. After breakfast palang, we were soo busy fixing the venue which is our backyard! We decorated balloons, pabitin, piñata, play area, tables and chairs, I finalized my loot bags, prizes, was busy texting and receiving cell phones and many more! Anyway, more pictures and stories to come. But all in all, the little angel's birthday was a success! Thank you Lord.

Potty training on-going

The little angel had a nasty diaper rash which started last week. After almost 2 years of wearing diapers, this is the only time she got the said rash. And I'm blaming it on the 'other' diaper brand. The little angel used to wear ProKids for new born, then my mom gave me EQ. I would not recommended EQ because of the leak experience we had with it. Then I tried Pampers. It's okay, but it's hard on the budget. My sister recommended Huggies which we used for the longest time.

Lately, I thought of switching to another brand. So I bought 4 pieces of the brand Drypers. We didn't notice anything until the little angel was crying hard because of the nasty rash. There came a time when the little angel doesn't want to take a bath because of it. I felt sad. She would cry and shout whenever I clean her private part and behind. Poor baby. I tried to talk her into understanding that she had a rash. Then she would say... "aashess" for rashes. Good thing, I still have the Curash my mom gave me when the little angel was still 2 months old. And so the rashes started to dry up.

So I started to practice the no-diaper policy during the day. I told the yaya to closely monitor her, like if she wants to go to wee-wee or poop. I always talk to the little angel that she needs to tell us if she wants to go wee-wee. Patience will tested at this part. At first, she would take leak then and there. And sometimes, she would hide behind the door. The other day, she pee-d herself 3 times on her Dora sofa bed. I was beginning to think that it was hopeless. Yesterday, when I was updating my blog, I noticed the little angel squat. Aha! I hurried her to the bathroom and made her sit on her little toilet. Yes, I bought her a little pink toilet from Enfant last week. She cried and then no poop came out. Okay okay... I thought. Next time again.

I went to bed the whole afternoon and woke up around 6PM. I hugged the little angel who was watching TV in the living room. At 6:30pm, I was already inside the washroom to take a bath when I heard the yaya said "Wee-wee! Wait! Let's get your toilet" (yes, she knows a little English) Upon hearing it, I immediately opened the door and moved the small toliet just outside the bathroom door and walla! The little angel pee-d on her little toilet. Success!

I asked the yaya if the little angel used the toilet that afternoon. She said, no. The little angel would go to her and take a leak right there. Maybe it was always too late.

Now she knows how to do it, I hope she'll progress more. Potty training still on-going...

You're Invited!

Okay, so it's 10 days before the little angel's birthday. Yes, it's that soon! Waaahhh! Good thing I was able to book the party host/clown for the occasion yesterday. Thanks Kathycot! And now I'm sending out the invitations. I already texted and emailed some of our relatives and friends yesterday. And I'm proud of the little angel's invitation made by sister M. I'm really lucky to have helpful and talented sisters nyahaha... You can visit her site *here*. I want to give her all the credits on this because she made this on a very very short notice. I know I was suplada when she showed me the finish product. Kapal ng mukha ko, ako pa daw ang galit kunwari hehehe. Thanks! Thanks sister!

~ The invitation ~

Some of my friends doesn't know how to get to the venue so I requested my other sister J to make a Map. She said to make a draft from a piece of paper or on the computer so I made one using paint and sent her the file. Believe me, you don't want to see what I made because those were just lines and stuff. So jologs. I really appreciate sister J for doing the Map in a very short notice... again. hehe! She's also doing the banner right now. I'm giving her also all the credits too. Kudos to you sistah. Please visit her site *here*.

Miggy's 2nd Birthday

Yesterday, we attended Miggy's second birthday At Shakey's in Ortigas. Miggy is my SIL's office mate's son haha. Anyway, I was surprised to see Miggy and the little angel grow up so fast. On Miggy's first birthday, we were there too. He's approximately two weeks older than the little angel. They said, this is the "terrible two" stage for the toddlers. But I cant say it's "terrible" hell-oh. I believe this is the stage where they are at their highest peak. They eat more, play more, talk loud and more!

The little angel really enjoys going to kiddie parties. The first thing she does every time we arrive on birthday parties is to get a balloon and play with it. She's not the shy type who'd be at the back. She really enjoys interacting with other kids. Hirap lang pigilan minsan. Okay, so at the party I finally got her to sit on the chair with the other kids. I told her to listen to guy in front and yes she did. I love those pictures I took. She looks like a little princess. Oh! My little angel is growing so fast. See more picture *here*

I got a pepperoni slice pizza from the giant pizza they had. The little angel was with me when I got the slice. So after I finished that slice, she said to me "One more?" and then I said yes. I did not expect her next move. She took the empty plate on our table and went in front where the party host was serving the pizza. My SIL saw her looking up at the party host whose serving the pizza and waited for her turn. She's so cute. Too bad I don't have a picture of that. And yeah, when she got the slice, she gave it to me. Good girl.

On the little angel's birthday, I plan to have more candies and goodies in the loot bag rather than the low-quality toys their selling in divi. At Miggy's party, we got a minnie mouse tin case with candies inside for a loot bag! I also got a mickey mouse calendar with Miggy's pictures on the cover. Very nice.
